Good ideas need backing, but they also need to be handled properly. You bring the problem or idea, and we help test, develop, and shape it for a share in the benefit. If it has potential, we work with you to take it forward. Your idea remains yours, and we’ll agree upfront how it’s protected and how any future value is shared.

Guidelines for Submitting Problems/Ideas

We are open to individuals or entities (e.g. companies or trusts)

They may be problems that need a solution, ideas for solving a problem or solutions that need support to be commercialised.

We are focused on the primary sector in its widest interpretation so could include horticulture, aquaculture, catchment management biodiversity management etc.

We are seeking problems/ideas that align with AgritechX’s core strengths:

Access to a farmer base to evaluate, support and test ideas.

Connection to research capability

Experience in commercialising innovation

You as the problem/idea generator can be involved as much or as little as you wish.

We are seeking to provide benefit to Taranaki but that does not have to be direct or exclusive.

Intellectual property ownership and commercialisation terms will be negotiated on a case by case basis
